What is GO-TKM?
GO-TKM —the Global Think Tank for Organizational Tacit Knowledge Management —is a not-for-profit based in Brussels, Belgium. We bring together over 100 experts, academics, public servants, and business leaders across 70 countries to advance one of the most overlooked challenges in modern organizations: tacit knowledge —the experience, judgment, and know-how that lives in people, not documents.
Our Story
After decades in senior management roles, the founders of GO-TKM kept witnessing the same quiet crisis: when people leave, they take years of experience with them. New employees are left to start from scratch, and organizations bleed intellectual capital without ever seeing it on a balance sheet.
The answer, they believed, wasn’t just better documentation or artificial intelligence. It was mentoring —one of humanity’s oldest traditions, where experience and wisdom pass from one generation to the next. The real question became: how do you scale that at an organizational level? How do you manage tacit knowledge not just between two people, but across an entire institution?
That question had no good answer. So, with a strong group of experts, they decided to build a think-tank to find and share some answers.

Experience cannot be replaced by theory. That belief sits at the core of everything we do. We work with honesty, generosity, and respect —creating a space where experts share freely, dialogue is genuine, and trust makes it possible for knowledge to flow. Innovation drives us: tacit knowledge transmission is still largely uncharted territory, and we intend to map it.

More than 100 experts have joined GO-TKM —and over 40 are deeply active year-round, advising, keynoting, and contributing to our think-tanks. What holds them together isn’t an institution —it’s a conviction that in a world reshaped by AI and rapid change, lived experience and human wisdom matter more than ever.
We don’t just study the problem —we act on it. GO-TKM has developed the world’s first Code of Conduct for tacit knowledge transmission, defined core competencies for TK managers, and built an accreditation process for practitioners and educators. Our think-tanks produce white papers and business cases. Our annual Davos forum connects the global community. And our Green Learning Units offer organizations a practical model for keeping knowledge alive across generations.
